PROPOSAL TO AMEND SECTION 24 OF THE BY-LAWS

Be it resolved that Section 24 of the by-laws of Henry Barnes Lodge, which now reads:

SECTION 24. The annual dues for each member, which shall be paid in advance on or before the first day in January, shall be twenty-five dollars plus Grand Lodge assessments, except those who are Ministers of the Gospel or Ministers of the Jewish Faith, and who are wholly engaged as such, and not in secular pursuits, and who shall pay only those dues and assessments as charged by the Grand Lodge of Kentucky, fiscal year being January 1st to December 31st. The names of all brothers owing dues shall be read at the last stated communication in March; and all who are delinquent, as defined by the Grand Lodge of Kentucky, shall be subject to suspension for non-payment. Action on those delinquencies shall be taken at the last stated communication in April. Whenever a registered or certified letter is sent to a member as notice of suspension for non-payment of dues, the cost of the mailing will be added to his indebtedness to the lodge, and added to his dues for the year in which he was delinquent. All members who have been affiliated for fifty years shall be exempt from lodge dues. Dues for the current year are payable before degrees are conferred.

Be changed, so that it will read:

SECTION 24.

A. The annual dues for each member, which shall be paid in advance on or before the first day in January, was established in 1977 as twenty-five dollars plus Grand Lodge assessments, except those who are Ministers of the Gospel or Ministers of the Jewish Faith, and who are wholly engaged as such, and not in secular pursuits. They shall pay only those dues and assessments as charged by the Grand Lodge of Kentucky, fiscal year being January 1st to December 31st. At this time, the Grand Lodge assessment is $21.00. Henceforth, whenever the Grand Lodge assessment is raised, the dues shall be raised by a like amount.

B. B. The names of all brothers owing dues shall be read at the last stated communication in March; and all who are delinquent, as defined by the Grand Lodge of Kentucky, shall be subject to suspension for non-payment. Action on these delinquencies shall be taken at the last stated communication in April. Whenever a registered or certified letter is sent to a member as notice of impending suspension for non-payment of dues, the cost of the mailing will be added to his indebtedness to the lodge, and added to his dues for the year in which he was delinquent.

C. C. All members who have been affiliated for fifty years shall be exempt from lodge dues.

D. D. Dues for the current year are payable before the degrees are conferred.
